TUNGSTEN CARBIDE VALVE SEAT
Valve seats are widely used in industrial fields such as petrochemical, electric power, metallurgy, water treatment and other industries. It is a pressure bearing component. When the valve is closed, the valve seat and valve core will jointly form a sealing structure.
Therefore, valve seats must have high hardness. And sufficient tensile and compressive strength are necessary to withstand pressure changes in the pipeline and to prevent rupture.
WHY CHOOSE TUNGSTEN CARBIDE VALVE SEAT
The shape, material, and machining accuracy of the valve seat affect the overall performance of the valve. Tungsten Carbide Valve Seats are made from hard compounds of refractory metals with metal as a bonding phase, which belongs to powder metallurgy. Those materials and manufacturing process ensure that it remain relatively stable even at a temperature of 500 ℃, and still have high hardness at 1000 ℃.
Therefore, in Oil Industry, Tungsten Carbide Valve Seats can maintain good stability, high hardness and high wear resistance in high temperature and high pressure environments.
With the application of TC valve seats in Chemical Industry, the overall corrosion resistance of the valve has been greatly improved. Even in harsh working environments, it also has a long service life.
This stability of Tungsten Carbide also provides it with sufficient sealing performance, and the application of this kind of material has gradually expanded to multiple industries.
TYPES OF TUNGSTEN CARBIDE VALVE SEAT
Hard alloy valve seats can be classified into the following types based on their structural types and the differences in the valve seat components:
Flat valve seat:
The sealing surface is flat and in linear contact with the valve plate or sphere. This sealing structure is generally suitable for medium and low pressure working conditions, and fluid control is achieved through a flat sealing surface. Its structure is simple, coupled with the high-density and corrosion-resistant characteristics of hard alloy, the sealing performance of the valve seat is reliable, and its service life is more than 5 times that of ordinary materials. The valve seat is in contact with the valve plate or valve core plane, and reliable sealing is achieved through pre tightening force.
Conical valve seat:
The sealing surface is conical, forming a sealing structure with the conical valve core. The conical structure reduces fluid turbulence and lowers particle impact energy. Therefore, conical valve seats are widely used in high-pressure, high-temperature, and corrosive medium conditions.
Spherical valve seat
The counterpart is usually a spherical ball or other annular contact surface. Spherical valve seats are commonly used in various tubular and rod type oil pumps as key components for controlling fluids. In such a sealing mechanism, due to the special geometric structure of the sphere, stress distribution is uniform. Its service life and sealing effect have been significantly improved.
