Tungsten Carbide Button

Made of tungsten carbide and metal binder through powder metallurgy process, the shape is mostly cylindrical or hemispherical, like a “button”. We usually call such wear-resistant parts “Tungsten Carbide Button”.

Product Description

Specific applications of Tungsten Carbide Button in the industrial field:

  • Oil drilling:

Those buttons will be embedded in the surface of the gear and used to grind hard rock layers such as granite and sandstone during the mining process. These rock layers themselves have extremely high hardness and density. Buttons made of ordinary materials can not withstand the harsh working environment in such high-load equipment, and will cause a lot of economic losses. The high density, high hardness, impact resistance and wear resistance of cemented carbide buttons make them suitable for various mechanical transmission systems.

  • Snow plow machine:

In the special use environment of snow plow machine, the wear and impact on the button are extremely high. During the operation, the surface of the equipment will frequently contact materials such as ice, snow and frozen soil. In order to reduce the frequency of component replacement and reduce maintenance costs, the use of cemented carbide is inevitable.

  • Coal mining machine drilling tools:

During the drilling process, the drill rod transmits impact energy to the drill bit, so that it continuously impacts the rock formation to achieve efficient crushing. The drill bit ball teeth made of cemented carbide have a hardness of up to HRA89-92.5, which can easily resist the wear and impact when crushing rocks. In the harsh environment of high temperature and high pressure in the mine, cemented carbide ball teeth, also “buttons”, can still maintain stable physical properties.

  • Mining machinery tools:

Through different designs and processes, this material can be made into rock drill bits, pick teeth, crusher hammer heads and jaw plates in mining machinery tools. Similar to the situation mentioned above, the ball teeth need to operate efficiently in harsh working environments, so stable performance materials must be used-tungsten carbide.

Using tungsten carbide as a material in the ball teeth, or I can say “as the button”, can maximize its service life and reduce economic losses caused by equipment maintenance. More importantly, during the operation process, such as in the transmission system of mining equipment, it can provide stable transmission performance and work continuously and efficiently and smoothly.

Classification of carbide ball teeth:

According to their different geometric shapes, carbide ball teeth are of the following types:

  1. Conical ball teeth
  2. Wedge-shaped teeth
  3. Coal pick teeth
  4. Road digging teeth
  5. Flat-top teeth
  6. Sharp claw teeth
  7. Spoon-shaped teeth
  8. Mushroom teeth
