Cemented Carbide Blanks
“Cemented Carbide Blanks” is actually a relatively general name, referring to all unfinished cemented carbide semi-finished products made by powder metallurgy. When customers purchase, blanks are undoubtedly the most likely choice for them. If customers have the corresponding processing equipment, cemented carbide blanks are the most flexible.
After customers get the corresponding blanks, they can perform secondary processing according to their own working conditions. After cutting, grinding and other processes, they become the final required parts.
Product Description
Our cemented carbide blank production line
For blanks, we have established an independent production line and mechanized production workshop. From metal powder preparation, pressing to sintering, we have automated and semi-automated processing equipment to meet different procurement needs. At the same time, this is also called “powder metallurgy process” by us.
The blanks that are initially pressed and formed will be sent to the furnace in batches according to the corresponding standards for sintering to form a dense structure. This is also one of the reasons why cemented carbide has excellent physical properties.
After our subsequent quality inspection, these blanks are already available for delivery. After receiving the product, our customers who place orders for blanks will grind and polish it to make the final product that meets the requirements.
Specific application scenarios of cemented carbide blanks
When making blanks for such tools, the blanks are generally pressed into square, triangle, bar, plate and other shapes. Later, our customers will further process such blanks into CNC blades, drill bits with spiral grooves, thread milling cutters and other parts. In this process, customers may use processes such as grinding and EDM.
Used in rock drilling, coal mining and other operations. Cylindrical or special-shaped bar blanks are ground and polished into parts such as rock drill bit crowns and pick alloy heads.
Among the cemented carbide parts we mentioned earlier, such as sealing rings, nozzles and other parts, customers can choose fine grinding finished products or blanks. If you choose blanks, we can directly provide ring blanks or conical blanks.
Use EDM or CNC grinding to process cylindrical or other special-shaped blanks into wire drawing dies and cold heading dies.
When customers choose blank products, in addition to other basic factors, they also need to consider whether they have sufficient conditions for secondary processing of the blanks. As a material with hardness second only to diamond, ordinary equipment cannot meet its processing needs. The hardness of sintered cemented carbide blanks can reach HRA 88-94. Diamond grinding wheels are used for grinding, and EDM and other processes are also frequent on our fine grinding line.
If the above conditions are met, then blanks are also a good choice. The product material has high hardness and density, strong wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. As a product with extremely strong processing flexibility, blanks can adapt to more complex working conditions.
